How To Choose The Right Frame For Your Face Shape

We’ve all been there before: You order a pair of good-lookin’ frames online, just to find out that they’re not so good-lookin’ on you in person. Don’t get us wrong, they’re still a stunning pair of sunnies, but they don’t highlight your brilliant bone structure, sit against your face the right way, or mesh with your round features like you thought they would.

Sound familiar?

We all want a pair of Sunglasses or Eyeglasses that look fabulous on us, but low and behold a quick stop in our boutique, SEE & SUN OPTICAL, will get you on the right path! That’s where we can help you, personable one-on-one... Sometimes the old way IS the best way ;)

Until you stop in, here are a few quick tips:

For oval and oblong shapes, you’re in luck! These silhouettes can pull off just about any type of glasses frame, from round to rectangle, aviator to retro square. Just make sure to keep in mind the proportion: half frames or rimless readers work best on petite faces, while oversized and full frames look best on broader ones.

For heart shapes, which are characterized by a wide forehead and sharp, pointed chin, choose wide, upswept styles to balance the distinguishable jawline. This includes cat eye and retro square styles (the best choices!), as well as many oversized and rectangular frames.

For square shapes, soften harsh lines and rectangular jawlines with rimless glasses or round readers. Other styles that soften angular faces are aviators and cat eye glasses.

For round shapes, it’s best to keep away from round frames, which will only add extra width and curviness to a circular shape. Opt for boxier rectangular frames (full frame or half frames are up to you!), oversized square or classic retro square frames.
